Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EasyScout platform operated by EasyScout Nigeria Limited. By registering or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use EasyScout. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18+ and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. EasyScout is available only to residents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

2. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Sharing account access with others is prohibited. You must provide accurate and truthful information when registering. EasyScout reserves the right to suspend accounts with false or misleading information.

3. Tenant Terms

Tenants may browse all listings for free. A subscription is required to access property owner contact details, full property addresses, and features such as property saves, alerts, and inspection scheduling.

Tenants must not: (a) attempt to access landlord information without a valid subscription; (b) share property owner contact details obtained through the platform with third parties; (c) use the messaging system for purposes unrelated to the property enquiry; (d) make false reports against landlords or properties.

4. Landlord Terms

Landlords must complete identity verification before listing properties. A one-time verification fee applies. All listings are subject to admin review and approval. Landlords warrant that they possess lawful authority to lease out the properties advertised.

Landlords must not: (a) list properties with inaccurate prices or details; (b) request additional undisclosed fees from tenants; (c) discriminate against prospective tenants based on race, tribe, religion, or gender; (d) collect rent payments through the platform; (e) bypass platform rules to avoid listing fees.

5. Platform Management Fee

EasyScout charges a platform management fee (currently 5% of annual rent) that is automatically calculated and displayed in the price breakdown for all listings. This fee is non-negotiable and cannot be modified by landlords. EasyScout reserves the right to adjust this fee with 30 days' notice to active landlords.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Subscription fees are charged in Nigerian Naira (₦) and processed securely through Paystack. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. EasyScout does not store card details — all payment data is handled by Paystack under PCI-DSS standards.

7. Prohibited Activities

You must not: (a) use EasyScout for any unlawful purpose; (b) scrape, crawl, or copy listing data in bulk; (c) attempt to reverse-engineer the platform; (d) upload malicious code or interfere with platform operations; (e) harass, threaten, or abuse other users; (f) attempt to defraud landlords or tenants.

8. Limitation of Liability

EasyScout is a platform that facilitates connections between landlords and tenants. We are not a party to any tenancy agreement and are not responsible for: the condition of properties, landlord or tenant conduct after first contact, the accuracy of user-submitted information (beyond our verification procedures), or outcomes of inspections or negotiations.

Our liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount paid by you in subscription fees in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.
